I am twenty-nine, walking a partly paved road in southern India. Without knowing it, I have embarked on a pilgrimage: of my family, of my ancestors, of my Self. I seek the secrets of this ancient land but find my mind too noisy, my heart entangled with pain, confusion, and regret. So I walk until it passes, seeking as each wave of the ocean seeks the shore.

There is a story inside of your heart that is waiting to be told. This story cannot be told without looking deep within yourself, past the stories you have told yourself about yourself for all the years of your life. These are the old stories of the old self. They only exist in your mind, where they were born, lived, and can now pass beyond.

Sit in a comfortable seat. If possible, sit close to the ground. If more comfortable, sit in a chair, with back straight; lie in Savasana.

Breath, inhale and exhale. Breath slow, deep breathes. In; out. As your attention becomes anchored to your breathe, the mind and body become one. If nothing more is accomplished than awareness of your breath, this in itself is a fruitful practice.

Continue to breath. Turn your attention inward.
