Who We Are

Simone Hudson, LAc, CD | Maternal Care Practitioner, Co-founder

Simone’s journey to healing started with a curiosity sparked by her grandfather's herbal tea cabinet. This curiosity led her to begin the study of how our bodies are naturally designed to support a life of optimum care. Trained at Maryland University of Integrative Health, Simone graduated in 2011 with a Master’s of Acupuncture. Simone has practiced community and private acupuncture throughout Maryland, co-committing to her patient’s own healing journey. She has successfully treated a myriad of conditions like anxiety, chronic fatigue, insomnia, low back pain, and poor digestion. Her primary focus is in prenatal and postpartum women's health. Seeing her patients leave sessions more rested, renewed, and relaxed is a source of joy.

When she is not practicing Acupuncture, Simone enjoys feeling the morning dew drops falling, hearing the birds sing, and watching the sun rise while the moon waxes and wanes in the starry night sky.

Sean Edwin | Administrator, Co-founder

As an entrepreneur, Sean’s intention is three-fold: build organizational culture to encourage value-based leadership, support start-up and scale initiatives, and design and facilitate team learning experiences. He has worked within organizations and as an entrepreneur, educator, and writer to bring ideas from seed to fruit, developing youth leadership programs, humanitarian efforts for relocated refugees, political advocacy initiatives, and models for worker-owned, democratically-run cooperatives. As an educator, Sean's focus is helping to deconstruct education models that rely on moral and knowledge systems grounded in race and power, re-orient our perspective for fuller expressions of our shared humanity, and affirm the story of non-violence.

The son of an OB/GYN and pediatric endocrinologist, Sean’s parents served women, children, and families for over thirty years in the Detroit area. Sean hopes all children receive the same care, attention, comfort, and joy of the gift of life stewarded by his parents. Transformed by the home birth experience of his daughter and son, Sean is passionate about addressing the maternal and infant care crisis disproportionately affecting Black women and communities.
